Paul Muresan is the only Romanian whose animation projects have reached the famous Cannes Festival this year.
The artist is a graduate of the “Corneliu Baba” Art High School in Bistrita and of the University of Art and Design in Cluj Napoca, the Graphics section.
He made his debut in 2009 with “Desenanimat”(AnimatedCartoon), a film made during a student scholarship at HBK Saar in Germany, where he perfected his animation study with Professor Tamas Waliczky.
After an independent study of 2D animation, he created another short film, “Pui de somn” , which has been awarded the Villa Kult Award, offered by Renate Roginas, a member of the national competition jury, and residing at the Berlin Festival, 2016 edition.
He was also awarded at ITFS Stuttgart, at Reel Teal in North Carolina, or at Anim’est International Animation Shorts.

“Mamă, tată, trebuie să vă spun ceva…”( Mom, Dad, I have to tell you something …) was projected at Cannes 2017 in the Short Film Corner program.
